Inspection and Surveys
Leveraging over three decades of hands-on experience, Sellam Ships provides high-tech condition monitoring and vessel inspections using industry-leading diagnostic equipment.
Advanced Condition Monitoring & Vibration Analysis
Our predictive maintenance programs are led by ISO CAT 2 and ASNT Level 2 certified professionals with over 30 years of experience. We utilize the Emerson CSI 2140, a latest-generation 4-channel analyzer, featuring advanced TRIAX accelerometers that reduce data collection time by 30%. By implementing Peakvue technology and SST (Super Slow Mode) for machinery operating below 35 RPM, we can detect bearing defects and lubrication issues at an incredibly early stage. Our route-based recording tracks critical trend parameters including dB levels, 'Distress' values for rotating machinery, and intensity/extent readings to pinpoint structural damage like cracked races before they lead to catastrophic failure.

Specialized Surveys & Lab Analysis
We deliver comprehensive marine surveying services globally, including pre-purchase evaluations, damage assessments, and lubrication management. Our integrated lab-based oil analysis monitors viscosity, total acid number (TAN), water content, and elemental particle contamination to identify deviations in machinery health. By combining onsite observations with evidence-based condition monitoring data, we conduct deep-dive failure investigations to provide corrective actions. Additionally, we offer lubrication surveys and air leak studies using acoustic emission detection to optimize plant efficiency and reduce energy waste.
Precision Thermography & Diagnostic Tools
Our diagnostic capabilities are enhanced by high-resolution FLIR T420 and E95 thermal imagers, offering IR resolutions up to 640 x 480 pixels and a temperature sensitivity of 0.045°C. This precision allows us to identify electrical switchboard defects, insulation failures, and boiler refractory defects across a wide range (-20°C to +1200°C). We also utilize Acoustic Emission (AE) sensors to monitor high-frequency energy signals; by measuring the 'Extent' and 'Intensity' of transient activity within a rotational cycle, we can provide early warnings for singular faults and poor lubrication, ensuring your vessel's critical systems remain operational and compliant.
